Mandiri SMS is a banking service that enables you to receive banking notifications via SMS directly to your mobile phone. By sending an SMS with the required notification code, you will receive a reply in SMS form.

Mandiri SMS Fees

Mandiri SMS is classified as a premium SMS service. Charges will be deducted from the customer’s prepaid balance by the mobile operator, in accordance with the applicable rates set by the operator.

Mandiri SMS Service Types

Currently, Mandiri SMS supports three services:

  • Checking and registering Livin’ Points balance
  • Credit card activation 
  • Debit and credit transaction notifications

Registration Requirements

  1. Hold a Mandiri Savings Account, Mandiri Rupiah Current Account, and/or Mandiri Rupiah Time Deposit, and possess a SIM card capable of accessing Bank Mandiri SMS banking. 

  2. Registration for Mandiri SMS can be carried out through Bank Mandiri ATMs or Bank Mandiri branch offices. Registration via Bank Mandiri ATMs can only be performed by Customers who hold a Bank Mandiri ATM Card. Meanwhile, registration at a Bank Mandiri branch office requires Customers to present a valid form of identification (National ID Card/KTP, Driver’s License/SIM, Passport, or KIMS) along with proof of account ownership (Passbook or Bank Mandiri ATM Card). 

How to Activate Mandiri SMS

  1. Register your mobile phone number via Mandiri’s ATM or at Bank Mandiri’s branch.
  2. For ATM registration, access the eBanking Registration Menu, select SMS Banking, then choose
    “Mandiri SMS Registration” and follow the on-screen instructions.

Definitions

  1. Mobile Banking – Banking services provided through the Bank’s electronic distribution channels to access a customer’s account via SMS, USSD, mobile applications, or other communication networks, using a mobile phone or tablet via a cellular network.
  2. Mandiri ATM – Banking services delivered via automated teller machines connected through data communication networks that allow Bank Mandiri customers to conduct banking transactions.
  3. Mandiri Debit – An electronic card issued by Bank Mandiri for transactions at merchants or ATMs, and as a verification tool at branches using a PIN pad.
  4. Bank – PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk, headquartered in Jakarta.
  5. SMS – Short message transmissions that can be sent or received via mobile phones and viewed on the phone screen.
  6. Mobile Operator – A provider of mobile network/telecommunication services.
  7. Customer – An individual or entity holding a Mandiri Current Account, Mandiri Savings Account, or Mandiri Business Savings Account in Rupiah or foreign currency.
  8. Registered Customer – A customer who has been enrolled in mobile banking services.
  9. Own Account List – All Mandiri Savings and/or Rupiah Current Account numbers belonging to the same customer, registered as the source account for debits or credits within mobile banking.
  10. PIN (Personal Identification Number) – A confidential Personal Identification Number known only to the registered customer, entered on their mobile device when performing financial transactions.
  11. SMS Notification – A notification service by the Bank, delivered via SMS to the registered customer’s mobile phone, for specific services offered by the Bank.
  12. Non-Financial Transaction – Mobile banking transactions providing information only, such as balance inquiries or transaction history checks.

Registration Requirements

  1. Complete and sign the Mandiri SMS registration form provided by the Bank, or register via a Mandiri ATM.
  2. ATM registration requires a Mandiri Debit Card, and customers must create a mobile banking PIN during registration.
  3. Branch registration requires original valid identification (KTP, SIM, Passport, KIMS) and proof of account ownership.
  4. For corporate customers, the application must be completed by an authorized officer, in accordance with the articles of association, or by a designated representative with a power of attorney from the authorized officer.
  5. Customers must have a SIM card from a mobile operator partnered with the Bank.
  6. Once requirements are met, the Bank will issue a mobile banking PIN, either sent directly to the customer’s mobile phone or created by the customer using a branch PIN pad.
  7. By registering through a branch, ATM, or other authorized Bank channels, the customer agrees to comply with the prevailing Mandiri SMS terms and conditions.

Usage Terms

  1. Registered customers may use Mandiri SMS for Bank-approved non-financial transactions.
  2. Mandiri SMS is only available for accounts listed under the registered “Own Account List.”
  3. Customers are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all transaction instructions, including the correct format as determined by the Bank. The Bank is not liable for any consequences arising from customer negligence, inaccuracy, or incomplete data.
  4. Approved transactions cannot be cancelled.
  5. Transaction instructions stored in the Bank’s central system are deemed valid, unless the customer can prove otherwise.
  6. Customers must promptly notify the Bank if they receive incomplete or inaccurate information.
  7. The Bank will process all instructions using the registered mobile number or other authentication factors set by the Bank, without further verification of their authenticity, unless proven otherwise.
  8. The Bank reserves the right to reject transactions in cases of suspected fraud or criminal activity.
  9. Mobile operators will charge SMS fees for each message sent by the customer, including unsuccessful transactions.

How long does the registration and activation process take?

  • ATM Registration: Service is instantly active for non-financial transactions (e.g., balance inquiry, last five transactions inquiry, etc.).
  • Branch Registration: Service will be active once you receive an SMS from 83355 containing your Mandiri SMS PIN.

Can two mobile phone numbers be registered to the same account?

No. One customer account can only be linked to one mobile phone number.

Do I need to re-register if I change my SIM card?

If your phone number remains the same, re-registration is not required. If your phone number changes, you must first deactivate the service via Mandiri Call 14000, then re-register at a Mandiri ATM or branch.

Are there any fees for using Mandiri SMS?

The cost per SMS depends on the mobile operator’s charges.

Why might confirmation SMS messages be delayed or not delivered?

Possible reasons include operator SMS Center congestion, mobile phone being turned off, insufficient prepaid credit, or lack of mobile signal.
