Bank Mandiri Receives Rp 23 Trillion in Repatriated Tax Amnesty Funds

News Release - Selasa, 3 Januari, 2017

Jakarta, 3 January 2017 - As per 31 December 2016, the end of the second stage of the tax amnesty program, Bank Mandiri had received repatriated tax amnesty funds amounting to Rp 23 trillion. The process of calculating the total amount of repatriated funds received to date by Bank Mandiri is still ongoing.

Of the said Rp 23 trillion, 53% was placed in banking products, such as savings accounts and time deposits, while the remainder was invested in financial products, such as bonds, Islamic bonds, mutual funds and insurance products.

Bank Mandiri Corporate Secretary Rohan Hafas said that Bank Mandiri would continue to strengthen its commitment to supporting the success of the tax amnesty program and the overall taxation reform program. Such support was evident from the opening of 235 branches on 31 December 2016 and 2 January 2017 to receive tax amnesty redemption payments and repatriated funds, both in Indonesia and overseas.

Rohan said that Bank Mandiri would also participate in stage 3 of the tax amnesty, which runs until the end of March 2017. The Bank’s support for stage 3 would include the holding of “tax amnesty clinics” for customers and members of the general public, and the dissemination of information on the amnesty through corporate promotional products.

To support the tax amnesty program, Rohan said, the Bank Mandiri Group has prepared a variety of instruments to accommodate repatriated funds, including treasury, asset management, capital market, investment/venture fund, and insurance products, as well as a range of non-financial instruments.
To access Bank Mandiri’s investment products, amnesty participants can contact the Bank Mandiri Call Center at 14000, or visit one of Bank Mandiri’s 58 tax amnesty priority outlets, 1,460 branch offices throughout Indonesia or 7 overseas branches before the end of the amnesty.
