Mandiri Promotes Synergies Between MIB and Rumah Kreatif BUMN Programs
Jakarta, 29 December 2016 - Bank Mandiri continues to innovate so as to strengthen the micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) sector in Indonesia. As part of these efforts, the Company plans to create synergies between the Mandiri Inkubator Bisnis (Mandiri Business Incubator/MIB) program and the Rumah Kreatif BUMN (SOE Creative Center program/RKB) in order to help MSMEs go digital and gain access to financing.
The MIB program is an MSME development and mentoring program that forms part of a number of Bank Mandiri entrepreneurship programs, including the Wirausaha Muda Mandiri (Mandiri Young Entrepreneur / WMM) program, Mandiri Sahabatku (My Friend Mandiri) program, the KUR customer development program, and the fintech startup development program. Currently, some MSMEs are participating in the MIB program, including both digital and non-digital MSMEs
Meanwhile, the RKB program is a collaborative program involving a number of SOEs that is designed to develop the digital economy through the provision of mentoring to MSMEs so as to help boost their capacities and capabilities. The RKBs serve both as data and information centers, and simultaneously as centers for the training, development and digitalization of MSMEs.
"Through MIB, Bank Mandiri has established a sustainable system for the development and mentoring of those MSMEs that are being assisted by the Bank. We believe that the creation of synergies with the RKB program will provide additional benefits to MSMEs in developing their business," said Bank Mandiri CEO Kartika Wirjoatmodjo during a presentation on the Mandiri RKB program in Jakarta on Thursday (Dec 29).
Kartika said that the Mandiri RKB program provided a range of benefits to MSMEs, including help with digitalizing their businesses through the blanja.com e-commerce portal, facilitating the selection of prospective MSMEs for further business development assistance, and the provision of entrepreneurship training related to production processes, raw materials, packaging, branding and financial management.
In addition, he said, MSMEs also benefit from the opportunity to network with other small enterprises, such as through the WMM alumni network.
"Of course, the MSMEs that participate in RKB Mandiri also benefit from potential financial support from the Bank and its subsidiaries through our KUR, micro credit and other banking products and services, including the possibility of investment by PT Mandiri Capital Indonesia in MSMEs in the financial technology sector," Kartika said.
As part of the Mandiri RKB program, Bank Mandiri collaborates with a range of partners, including PT Telkom for the blanja.com e-commerce portal, Permodalan Nasional Madani (Persero) for fostering the development of MSMEs, and the Nurbaya Initiative for data collection and a merchandise management system for the products of the MSMEs participating in the RKB program.
“Going forward, we will continue to collaborate with other relevant parties in order to provide greater added value to MSMEs,” explained Kartika.
